Celebrate the best of contemporary dance with local + national guest artists from across the country. Mix and mingle with festival artists at the PRE-SHOW MIXERS one hour before each performance, post-show talk-backs, and master classes.

Thursday May 12 Program A KST | 7PM
newMoves Contemporary Dance Festival 2011 opens with work from Mana Kawamura (NYC), Andre Koslowski (PGH), Pearlann Porter (PGH), Emerging Choreographer Katie Rose McLaughlin (PGH), and Emerging Choreographer Malcom Low (NYC).
Friday May 13 Program B | Contains Nudity KST | 7PM
Program B features both emerging and established choreographers presenting short numbers. Audiences will view work from KST Resident Choreographer Staycee Pearl, plus visiting artist Kate Watson-Wallace of Philadelphia's Anonymous Bodies. Jamie Murphy and Renee Danielle Smith (PGH), Kaylin Horgan (PGH), Emerging Choreographer Cara Hagan (NC), and Keila Cordova (PHL) round out the evening with volunteer performers, musical exploration, and the concept of the journey.
Saturday May 14 An American Chameleon Grey Box Theatre | 4PM | Contains Nudity
An autobiographical multimedia dance-theater experience that parallels the dysfunction of American History with the growing pains of an up-bringing plagued by schizophrenia. In an unusual fusion of over-the-top theatricality and total earnestness, characters construct equally with words and action, cohering in a world unique to itself.
Program C KST | 7PM | Contain Nudity
From Seattle to New York to our very own Pittsburgh, choreographers bring solos, ensembles, and everything in between to explore new areas of work. Join us for a showcase of work by Niki Cousineau (PHL), Nicole Lobuzzetta (SEA), Attack Theatre (PGH), August Wilson Center Dance Ensemble (PGH), and Troy Ogilvie (NYC).

Sunday May 15 youthMoves KST | 2PM
YouthMoves, our youth dance showcase, returns to close the 2011 newMoves Contemporary Dance Festival. Created to encourage young and developing artists, this performance creates opportunities for youth artist development. This year, six groups from all over the city will perform in our festival closer, including Alumni Theater Company, CAPA Dance, Evolve Productions, Full of Grace, Get Down Gang, and Hope Academy.
