BACH presents A Baroque Christmas
Holy Cross Catholic Church Champagin, IL
Baroque Artists of Champaign-Urbana (BACH) present A Baroque Christmas. Our 2007 holiday program brings together two giants of the High Baroque: J.S. Bach and his idol, Dietrich Buxtehude (1637-1707), whose organ improvisations the young Bach walked 200 miles to hear. BACH celebrates the 300th anniversary of Buxtehude's death with performances of his Christmas chorales as well as Bach's thrilling Magnificat in D major (BWV 243). The program will include our traditional audience sing-along on such beloved German hymns as "In dulci jubilo", "Von Himmel hoch", "Resonet in laudibus", and more - all in the warm accoustics and vivid beauty of Holy Cross Catholic Church.
Note: Senior tickets are available for anyone age 62 and above. 2 for 1 student tickets are available for students of any age. Please have ID with you.
