Poetry, Pop and Paint!
Here comes a show you don't want to miss! This is the first of several sexy upscale immersive events planned for this summer by Dogged Dream Creations. There's not much going on quite like this in Louisville!
As a one year anniversary to Poets, Prophets and Punks, where international multimedia and performance artist Divinity Rose released her first graphic novel, Poetry, Pop, and Paint will have you talking for months to come.
Divinity Rose is breaking new grounds for herself as she continues her transition from poet to pop artist and will be performing some poetry and music from her upcoming album Doomsday Lover throughout the night in addition to popular music.
With each original piece she performs, models will be released wearing head to toe bodypaint designs by Divinity Rose, applied by international fashion designer and make up artist Genna Yussman and Kenn Parks. There will also be models displaying some of her poetry/lyrics applied by calligrapher Jen Groves. (male and female models)
In addition to her performance, there will be high energy performance by phenomenal national spoken word artist Truth B. Told, up and coming comedian/poet Raanan Hershberg, and guest appearances by other local performers with poetry and pop music. To further the immersive artistic experience, international painter Kenn Parks will be doing live performance painting. This isn't your classical poetry reading. This is high energy, moving, exciting performance art. Raanan will have you rolling on the floors in fits of laughter and Truth will have you jumping to your feet and shouting Amen! Divinity will take you to new worlds and l leave you inspired with a multimedia experience of her writings and performance.
You'll love how we transform Saints Skybar into a unique artistic experience with shadow poetry on the dancefloor, video and photography projections and a juried art exhibition of different media. Ballots will be available to choose favorite visual artist: winner will be printed in June issue of Pure Uncut Candy.
There will be a lot of poetry, pop culture and music, parody, and paint - that's a lot of alliteration! Expect a high energy, fun event that leaves you charged, inspired and looking forward to more from this super talented team of creatives.
All this for just $10 in advance or $15 day of show. There is limited seating at the venue, so you can also reserve VIP tables, couches for groups of 5 or more people starting at $75 (Table for five).
10% of ticket and VIP area sales go to Breaking New Grounds, a Louisville nonprofit organization focused on creating jobs and providing nutritious food based on sustainable urban agriculture. (In addition to that, our ticketing service donates 5% of their ticketing fee to a charity) Tickets will be available at Saints Skybar starting May 1.
This is an upscale 21+ event. Please come dressed to impressed- no ripped clothing, bandanas, "colors". This is definitely an adult event. Perfect for an interesting date night!
