A FRIEND IN NEED: A Cabaret Tribute Show Honoring Mike Ward
Local Bay Area Cabaret and Theatre Artists come together, to honor the multi-talented, Mike Ward.

_______________________________________

Cabaret columnist (Jazz & Cocktails - the Lush Cabaret Life), arts feature writer and award-winning theatre artist Mike Ward has successfully battled a variety of cancers since 1996; he's lived with HIV since 1981.

In 2005 he was diagnosed with inoperable liver cancer and valiantly battled. On December 20, 2010, with only approximately 15 months to go before being eligible for a liver and kidney transplant, Mike received devastating news: his liver cancer aggressively returned, transplant was now off the table, as were all liver-directed therapies. During that December appointment, he was given a 9 to 11 month prognosis.

Mike recently switched his entire cancer care from UCSF to Stanford; as well as he is working with traditional Chinese medicine specialists in Marin and San Francisco. The commute and the number of expenses that aren't covered by insurance have taken their toll. As a community of artists and cabaret lovers, we want to help Mike have some comfort in his final months so he can continue his treatments.

Please join us in helping to relieve some of Mike's financial burden - join us for this wonderful evening of music & friendship as we honor Mike with an evening of entertainment done the way the SF Bay Area does best, taking care of our own and bringing good people together.

** If you are unable to attend please consider making a donation. To do this simply buy the number of tickets equivilent to the dollar amount you'd like to donate.

Note: Dress is festive to formal.

Our line up thus far includes: Carly Ozard, Tammy Hall, Amanda King, Barry Lloyd, Russ Lorenson & Professor RJ Ross; With Alan Choy, Candace Forest, Molly Gazay, Brendan Getzell, Kelly Ground, Dave Gursom, Lua Hadar, Alexandra Kaprielian, Linda Kosut, Emil Miland, Sasha Motalygo, Jacquie de Muro, Stephen Randolph, Jona...than Reisfeld, Ray Renati, Tom Shaw, Danielle Thys, Eric Ward, Joe Wicht, & more!

NEWS UPDATE: The traditional Chinese medicine regimen that Mike is on has made progress. In two months, his t-cells have increased 33%, viral load undetectable, and he's seen improvements on his liver and kidney functions. However, his tumor markers have increased - at this point it's a race.
