Jennie McNulty and Lisa Koch: The Bland Ambition Tour (Madonna's Birthday!)
LA comic Jennie McNulty joins Seattle singer/comedian Lisa Koch for a night of queer comedy, twisted tunes and a tribute to Madonna on the Queen of Pop's birthday!
Jennie McNulty is "one of the premiere comedians in the country" as proclaimed by The New England Blade. The Examiner called her an, "infectiously energetic, remarkably deft comic with a warm disarming style and some of the best improv skills in the business." And Curve magazine rates her among the "Top 10 lesbian comics." Jennie's comedy career has taken her all over the world, from entertaining troops in Iraq and Afghanistan to the beautiful beaches and serene seaports of the LGBT travel world. She's been featured in Logo TV's "One Night Stand Up " and in NBC's "Starting Over" as well as being featured in numerous commercials and co-starring roles. She's not a doctor, but she's played one on TV! Her talk show, "Walking Funny With" was a huge hit on AfterEllen.com and is now in production for a 4th season.
In addition to comedy clubs, colleges and events across the country, Jennie's also headlined Pride festivals everywhere and spent 6 summer seasons performing nightly in Provincetown, MA. She produces two comedy/variety shows in the Los Angeles area and was a regular host at the Improv at Harrah's in Las Vegas.
AND in her spare time, Jennie plays women's tackle football for the California Quake in the Independent Women's Football League. You go, Girl.
Seattle singer/comedian Lisa Koch is one-half of loony sketch-comedy duo Dos Fallopia (with comic Peggy Platt), has released 4 solo CD's, and has shared the stage with a diverse group of artists, including Steve Martin, Janis Ian, Indigo Girls, and Suzanne Westenhoefer.
Koch is best known locally for her long-running cult holiday romp, "Ham for the Holidays" (with Platt). She's a favorite on Seattle stages (5th Avenue, ACT, Triple Door, Theatre Off Jackson), and she is the composer of Off-Broadway musical, "27, rue de Fleurus". She has been seen on LOGO, she performs regularly on Olivia Cruises, and she actually had one of her songs sampled by Jay-Z. Curve Magazine said, "Hearing Seattle's Lisa Koch is one of life's wickedest pleasures"
Tickets are $18 advance, $20 at the door. VIP reserved seating (with drink) $25/30. www.heylisa.com www.jenniemcnulty.com
