SURVIVING HITLER: A LOVE STORY
A love story for the ages filled with high drama and intrigue, Surviving Hitler: A Love Story (SFJFF 2010) is no Hollywood movie but a riveting documentary about two sweethearts in the German resistance involved in the plot to assassinate Hitler. Screens with Ingelore, Frank Stiefel's portrait of his mother (a deaf Holocaust survivor) is both a loving tribute and a remarkable feat of compressed storytelling. Ingelore narrates in speech and sign the harrowing events leading up to her immigration to America.
