YPIN: Risks, Politics & Culture of Immunization
Vaccines have been a viral topic over the past few years, whether it's the local and national debate over the safety of immunizations or the global debate over vaccine access, impact, education, and supply chain. As Bill Gates wrote in his 2011 Annual Letter, "This year 1.4 million children will die from diseases for which there are already vaccines," so what will it take to increase education, supply, and access on a local and global level?
YPIN presents leaders and panelists in global and public health from the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Seattle Biomed, PATH, and Seattle & King County Public Health to shed some light on the global challenges developing nations and NGO's are faced with in the distribution and logisitics of vaccine delivery as well as the local impact of communities abandoning immunizations.
