Description
The Pacific Northwest is fortunate to be home to numerous wild runs of Pacific salmon, including chinook (or king), coho (or silver), sockeye, pink (or humpy), and chum. This diversity is important to preserve not only for the species but also for their contributions to the food chain.

Join us for an evening of discovery to benefit Long Live the Kings- featuring delectable Northwest salmon and wine! Eric Tanaka, Executive Chef for Tom Douglas restaurants, will demonstrate the unique and complex flavors of salmon with a multi-course menu that highlights the individual characteristics of chinook, coho, sockeye and chum. Try them all and choose your favorite!

Barbara Cairns, Executive Director of LLTK, will discuss the individual life histories of each species, and their profound impact on our region's culture. You'll learn about the varying environmental factors that affect the flavor and consistency of salmon, the status of salmon recovery in our region, and the remarkable ways in which salmon connect our communities.

Chinook Wines is pleased to complement the salmon tasting with their new spring releases: 2004 Cabernet Franc Rose and 2003 Cabernet Franc.

LLTK "Silver" and LLTK "King" tickets for this event include the program, dinner, wine, tax and gratuities. The $200 "King" tickets include a limited edition Long Live the Kings poster, and priority seating at the event. Net proceeds will benefit LLTK, a 501(c)(3) organization. A portion of the ticket price is tax deductible.

The mission of Long Live the Kings is to restore wild salmon to the waters of the Pacific Northwest. Since its founding in 1986, LLTK has created salmon and steelhead recovery projects designed to meet the specific conservation challenges of Puget Sound and western Washington waterways. By focusing on sound science and measurable results, and by building effective community partnerships, LLTK has achieved innovative breakthroughs on behalf of salmon recovery.
