SFSR Cheese & Wine Pairing Benefit
This event to be held at Falstaff's on the campus of Skidmore College in Saratoga Springs, N.Y. will follow theSlow Food Saratoga Region annual meeting, which will be held from 4-5PM.
Enjoy delicious cheeses from the members of the Washington County Cheese Tour Farmers who will be on hand to discuss their cheese and provide samples. American, artisanal & farmstead cheese making has entered its Renaissance. Find out why the art of cheese making was forgotten and then rediscovered in New York. Talk to upstate farmer/cheese makers and hear the stories of how they "beat the odds" to run successful operations and make award-winning cheeses.
Meet cheese makers from Consider Bardwell Farm, 3-Corner Field Farm, Longview Farm, Argyle Cheese Factory and Sweet Spring Farm in Washington County, New York and chat with them over wine & cheese as they describe their transformations into cheese makers.Wines will be paired with each cheese and provided by Frederick Wildman and Top of the World. Fundraiser event to support Slow Food's 1000 African Gardens Project to start 1,000 community gardens in Africa.
