In a future where human decency has been replaced by instant gratification, Guy Montag is a fireman who's job isn't to stop fires, it's to start them. He's content to spend his days burning books, the last remnants of free thought, until he meets Clarisse, a young woman who convinces him that there might be more to the things he so easily destroys.
