Linda Kosut, a Backstage Magazine Bistro/BMI award winner, swings jazz, pop and folk, blending songs of these differing genres into unexpected renditions and arrangements. Linda has performed nationally at clubs such as New York's Iridium Jazz Club to the Jazz Bakery in Los Angeles to San Francisco's Yoshi's Jazz Club, and just completed a 6-show run in 2010 at San Francisco's Rrazz Room.
Benn Bacot hails from Mississippi and wields a rich bass baritone that recalls Joe Williams and Johnny Hartman, while maintaining a style all his own. He has performed on many of the major stages in the San Francisco Bay Area including The Rrazz Room, Anna's Jazz Island, Jazz at Pearl's, and currently plays a monthly date at San Francisco's Savanna Jazz, which has just been named by Downbeat Magazine as one of the Top 150 Great Jazz Rooms in the world.
This San Francisco duo will each be presenting a sampling of the material for which they are known - presenting audiences a delightful contrast in styles -from Benn's soulful R&B influenced sound as he explores jazz standards, to Linda's sultry and intimate jazz/folk style. And in between, some duets to spice up the evening.
