Financial Education in Spokane WA (Financial Reality Fair, Student Panel)
Join the Financial Education Public Private Partnership (FEPPP), a unique organization composed of educators, legislators, and members of the financial community for an observation of grade 6-12 educator training, a conversation about the the school of hard knocks, and changes coming in K-12 education.
The FEPPP meeting is at the Spokane Convention Center from 2:30 to 5:30 on June 23rd, 2015. Featured attendees include Shadle Park HS educator Ms. Erin Ruehl, FEPPP chair Rep. Sharon Tomiko Santos and Spokane Rep. Marcus Riccelli (subject to legislative session ending), plus Judge Frederick P. Corbit of the Eastern District of the US Bankruptcy Court.
FEPPP trains K-12 teachers around the state annually, so that we can support educators who may want to know how to integrate financial literacy concepts into mathematics, social studies, language arts, family and consumer science and business education. We support additional pathways for Washingtonians to receive financial education, which can help students learn about economics and personal finance. In fact, Governor Inslee has just signed a bill to make Washington State one of only 20 other states requiring financial education incorporation into existing K-12 learning requirements. http://bit.ly/1LUdNyj
