CIMMFest 2011: Sound It Out
Directed by Jeanie Finlay
An intimate, funny, loving portrait of the last record store in the northeast of England and the loveable eccentrics who travel across country to buy actual vinyl from fellow music aficionados, this South by Southwest 2011 official selection is also about the disappearance of the record store as an important cultural institution. As independent record stores across the world go out of business, music devotees and newcomers are faced with a future where the experience of music happens mostly in isolation.
With: "Elsewhere" (short fiction featuring Thrill Jockey soundtrack, directed by Mathy Tremewan and Fran Broadhurst)
