CIMMFest 2011: The Ballad of Mott the Hoople
Heaven Gallery Chicago, IL
The Ballad of Mott the Hoople = $10
Documentary, UK, 105 min., US premiere
Directed by Chris Hall and Mike Kerry
The BFI London Film Festival crowd-pleaser makes its US debut, documenting the celebrated reunion after 35 years of the band most famous for "All the Young Dudes." Of course there's more to them than one hit: their story parallels the story of British glam rock, and Ian Hunter remembers every moment of those glory days, with the help of amazing archival footage and interviews with such luminaries as Queen's Roger Taylor and The Clash's Mick Jones.
