All It Takes Is One 11'- A Third Annual Evening for Africa
This year's Evening for Africa includes great live music, terrific raffles, cocktails, live and silent auctions, a fabulous dinner, and as always a celebration of The EAC's life saving work in Kenya!
Featured items include great wine packages, a stunning villa in Costa Rica, tempting desserts from Tom Douglas and Palisades Restaurant, original art from our student's in Kenya, a variety of all inclusive international vacations, framed photographs from Brenna Britton of People Magazine and MUCH MORE!
We at the East African Center describe our work as empowering women and children, providing assistance to communities and resources for people to make a difference in their own lives, and ensuring access to resources and tools for change. Our multi-faceted development approach is community driven, low-tech and sustainable in the long run. It is targeted specifically to the local community's needs and guided every step of the way by the community that we serve.
Our community center in Takaungu (a small village on the Kenyan coast) consists of a full library, nursery and primary schools, adult education programs, an independent sewing cooperative, community garden, family clinic, community health worker program and other poverty eradication programs.
Thank you for joining us for an evening dedicated to promoting change and raising hope for the community of Takaungu!
