Letters Aloud presents: "DEAR DAD - letters to and from famous fathers"
Looking for a fun, thought provoking, and completely unique way to spend Father's Day this year? Celebrate your Dad by taking him to see Seattle's exciting new reading series, Letters Aloud, with an encore performance of their inaugural show, "Dear Dad", at the brand new 12th Ave Arts building in Capitol Hill. Over 25 personal letters written to or from such luminaries as John F. Kennedy, Jim Morrison, Jackson Pollock, Dave Brubeck, John Steinbeck, F. Scott Fitzgerald, Oscar Wilde and an ungrateful kid named Violet. These intimate letters will surprise, inspire and give new insight into the complicated relationship between fathers and their kids. With live musical accompaniment and a dynamic slide show.
Each episode of Letters Aloud focuses on a central theme with letters from every era carefully chosen to explore that theme, creating a thoughtful, profound, touching and funny-as-hell live performance. Come join host and curator Paul Morgan Stetler, along with some of Seattle's finest actors, for this provocative handshake with the past and perhaps even learn a thing or two about the meaning of family from a bygone era.
