Finding My Soal
Long ago in a land called Soal, a young girl Pa falls in love with a Prince and becomes his second wife. Disaster strikes in Soal and the royal family takes refuge in Meka Land where they experience tremendous hardships. The children are divided between their respective mothers and their father, the Prince. Everyone is trying to find their place in Meka Land and is in search of their soul.
In collaboration with Mu Performing Arts, CHAT's Youth Leadership Group (YLG) shares their perspectives, as young Hmong Americans, on the effects of polygamous practices as they relate to issues of gender equality, self empowerment and family.
