About the Instructor - Karen Loftus

Tennessee Williams Fellow, performer, playwright and well-known international comedian Karen Loftus took a wee break from her global comedy tours and stepped on to Hollywood's raging red carpet. A year of entertainment coverage later, on camera and in print, Loftus found herself fully immersed in celebrity interviews, award shows, parties and premieres.

That media madness led to Loftus being sent on assignment to New Zealand. After spending two weeks covering the Cocktail World Cup in Queenstown and in Auckland for New Zealand's Fashion Week, Loftus decided to head back out on The Global Road, as a travel writer. The rest is travel savvy history.

Loftus still travels the world and tells stories. She now puts on the page what she once delivered on stage. The travel writer and global photographer has since been to all 7 continents and 75 countries and counting. She has covered all from destinations to culinary and cocktail trends, wineries, distilleries, hotels, resorts, travel trends, spas, safaris, fashion, tech, gadgets, gear and adventure travel. Loftus has written thousands of articles and has contributed to nearly 100 media outlets, from regional to national and international magazines, papers and websites.

Loftus and her work have appeared in media outlets throughout the world including CNBC, Reuters, Yahoo, London Times, Washington Post, Baltimore Sun, The Huffington Post, About.com, NY Daily News, Toronto's Globe & Mail, Hong Kong's South China Morning Post, Dubai's Gulf News, La Opinion (# 1 Spanish speaking paper), Grazia Magazine (UK), NUVO Magazine (Canada), Lucire (New Zealand), Simply Her (Singapore), Chichaku (China), Travel Weekly, TravelMole, Travel Age West, Sherman's Travel, Men's Journal, Men's Fitness, Hampton's Magazine, Societe Perrier, Zink Magazine, Arizona Foothills, Estates West Magazine, NY's Resident Magazine, Food & Beverage Magazine, Tasting Panel, Beverage Industry News (BIN), OK!
