Blast Off Comedy Live at the Comedy Store
Ever watch a comedy show and wonder why this guy or gal is still on stage after 3 mins of no laughter? Well it's happened to all of us! Hi My name is Jamarr and I'm a working comedian who wants to up the ante and sure comedians need a safe place to work out material but when it's a paying audience the stakes have to be raised!
So here are the Rules:
1. Each Comedian will get a minimum amount of time based on their skill level. Newer comedians will be in that 3-5 minute range experienced middle acts will get 5-8 range and headliner types will get 10-12 to start with. This time can increase depending on what the audience wants to see.
2. When there is 30 seconds left in a comedians act, the audience can make their vote known in a polite yet powerful way... TWITTER! When the shot clock starts ticking down from 30 seconds folks can tweet @BlastOffComedy with the name of the comedian (Their handle works too) and the hashtag #BlastOff and phrases like "Give him more time" "Get him off" "She's funny, more time" etc and we will get time back on their clock. +10 seconds for every positive tweet and -10 seconds for every negative tweet.
3. Bullpen - Now because some people may be only doing minimal time there will be extra time in the show. Blast Off will make good use of this extra time by giving members of the bullpen also known as the "Wolfpack" (Because they will be eager to perform) stage time that night. Bullpen members are guaranteed a spot on the next show!
4. Don't verbally heckle the comedians. You can speak if your being spoken to but lets keep the show classy people! :)
