Linne Calodo & The Scholium Project Winemaker Dinner
Linne Calodo & The Scholium Project Winemaker Dinner
March 23 at 6:30 pm ~ $110 per person, plus tax & gratuity.

Chef Chris Hall will prepare six, over-the-top courses to pair with the amazing wines and witty presence of winemakers Matt Trevisan (Linne Calodo) and Abe Schoener (The Scholium Project) for the first-ever winemaker dinner at Local Three.

Linne Calodo is a family-owned and operated winery focused on the production of unique and exceptional, hand-crafted wines. The name, Linne Calodo, describes the distinctive calcareous soils of the west side of Paso Robles where the vineyards are located. Featured in Wine Spectator June 15, 2010 Issue in an article about Paso Robles by Tim Fish. "With wines labeled Problem Child, Nemesis and Outsider, winemaker Matt Trevisan shows not only an independent streak but a dry sense of humor. One of the pioneers of west Paso, Trevisan makes blends of Zinfandel, Syrah, Mourvedre and Grenache. Thanks to the rocky, limestone soil of the region that gives the winery its name, the wines are dense, complex yet sinuous creations. 'There's a bit of elegance to be found by combining different varietals together,' he says."

In a 2008 New York Times article, Eric Asimov wrote: AS with many small, utilitarian wineries in California, barrels and tanks practically spill out of Tenbrink, home of Scholium Project, here in the Suisun Valley, just east of Napa Valley. Yet to call Scholium Project a winery and its proprietor, Abe Schoener, a winemaker is a little like calling Salvador Dalí a painter. It's true, but it does not begin to capture his visionary character.

No winery in California is more unconventional, experimental or even radical than Scholium....

From his intuitive winemaking practices to the obscure names he gives each cuvée to his almost heretical approach to winery hygiene, Mr. Schoener marches to his own muse."

Reception 6:30 pm.
Seated dinner to begin at 7 pm.
Winemakers will mingle with guests throughout the evening and will discuss and explain the wines.
Dinner - $110 per person
