At The Hand of My Mother
Set at a convent in Dublin, At The Hand of My Mother transitions back and forth between two story lines  one, a historical account of the harsh realities of Oralist school training in the 19th century and a second contemporary tale that ends in violence when a deaf mother loses her daughter to the hearing world.  

With six actors playing multiple roles, At The Hand of My Mother provides an unsentimental portrait of the deaf community's struggle to communicate and exist on its own terms.
