Hermione Voyage to Castine - Visit the Top Deck of the Frigate
Twenty years ago, a small group in France began discussing the idea of constructing an exact replica of the frigate Hermione, the vessel on which the Marquis de Lafayette embarked for the colonies in 1780 to bring word of French military support to the colonists during the American Revolutionary war. With construction now complete she has been deemed the most authentically built tall ship in the last 150 years.
Her voyage from France is currently underway and she will arrive in Castine for the celebration of Bastille Day, July 14th, 2015. Don't miss your opportunity to visit the top deck of the ship, see the exquisite workmanship firsthand, and meet the captain and his crew on Wednesday, July 15th!
Visits to the top deck will take place between 9:00 AM and 5:30 PM and will last 30 minutes.
This is made possible through the Castine Historical Society's partnership with the Friends of Hermione-Lafayette in America, and from the support of our sponsors.
*Please note the Hermione is not wheelchair accessible
