Good comedians have the ability to reduce a 30-minute experience to a 30 second joke. Joe Klocek, one of San Francisco's finest comedians, wants to reverse that process. After performing comedy for 15 years he's eager NOT to condense events to a set-up and a punchline. He wants to tell the story behind the punchline. So, Joe created a storytelling series and in the process assembled a remarkable group of San Francisco's top stand-up comics, solo performers and storytellers. It occurs at StageWerx, an intimate space that is  superb  for telling stories.

>>> "My Father was a Mean Man, But Cruel" AKA "Two Piece and a Biscuit"
This is the story of masculine, mechanical know-how skipping a generation from grandfather (William Dale Franken) to grandson (William Dustin Franken) while the son/father in-between (William Brian Franken) is left to pursue the more feminine arts of theatrical comedic performance, 18th Century literature, and crossdressing. In this tragi-comic tale of thwarted manhood, Will Franken returns home to Missouri to see his father for the first time in ten years and is quickly reduced to the nervous, fear-filled child of yesteryear--recruited, against his will, to help the venom-spewing, violence-prone old man in the garage. Only his 19-year old son's seemingly innate knowledge of dishwasher motors can save the day!

>>> "What To Do When you Hit A Cow and Other Rules No One Tells You About"
This is the story other comics ask me to tell new comics when it's late at night and we're driving back from a gig. It's a cautionary tale, spiritual journey and damn funny adventure.  It starts when I hit a cow in the middle of the Utah desert two weeks before Christmas and have to hitchhike my way home. That's where it starts. It ends with me sort of getting the girl, loosing every single worldly possession and getting this story.
