Eye Candy explores the obsession of every generation and species...mating! EYE CANDY invites the audience to realize the hilarious patterns we all engage in while trying to find that "one". The courtship rituals we all participate in are as strange as any found in the Bronx Zoo, it involves strutting and well-worn pick-up lines. This piece examines the satirical and often hypocritical aspects of finding a mate. Eye Candy blends athletic, dynamic, original contemporary dance with raw dramatic theatre encouraging a playful dialogue between the two. EYE CANDY examines how to find a mate, keep a mate and how to get rid of that mate.
MariaColacoDance has one simple mission: to move. Maria's commitment to challenge the established boundaries between classical and pop, comedy and tragedy has left her work labeled "Lush" (Dance Insider) and "Hilarious" (Block Magazine).
