Romantasy Cabaret ~ 03/19/11 ~ Ballyhoo Revue!
Romantasy Cabaret, a local vaudeville cabaret show, brings its cheeky antics and elaborate stage show back to Club Red in Tempe in 2011 for another season of their naughty lil vaudeville cabaret show. March 19th kicks off the fun-filled season with Ballyhoo Revue, A Scintillating Spectacle. The show promises to be "Bigger! Bolder! Bustier!" than before. Romantasy Cabaret will once again offer its audience a constantly evolving variety show every time, including many acts not seen anywhere else. This unique variety was just one of the reasons why Romantasy Cabaret was voted Best Vaudeville Show, 2008, by the Phoenix New Times.
Hosted once again by the show's vivacious writer, director and producer, Mizz Lucy Morals, the Ballyhoo Revue season promises a great range of variety entertainment with a circus and sideshow motif. Featuring dancing girls and comics, singers and illusion, as well as carnival and sideshow acts, the show will also serve up a bevy of beautiful classic and neo-burlesque beauties, a highlight of the show for which it has achieved much positive press.
Romantasy Cabaret once again urges its guests to dress in vintage costumes and by-gone era evening attire for the shows. Costumed revelers enjoy taking in the show and being part of the fun. Free raffle tickets are given to those who arrive in costume and sold to those wanting more chances to win fantastic prizes donated by local artisans such as Torture Couture, Ava Garters, The Goddess Garden and Plaza de Anaya Dance Studio.
Closing out each show is the after party when the Romantasy Cabaret folks come out to mix and mingle with the audience for photos and fun.
While Club Red is not equipped to serve food, attendees can nosh on various food items for sale by a local food merchant, set up just outside the club's entrance. Chi Chi's Tacos will be on site serving up their tasty street tacos!
Mizz Lucy Morals urges advance purchase of tickets if patrons hope for a seat for the 3-hour plus show. Front row VIP and VIP Reserved seats sell out quickly. General Admission tickets are usually available through the night of the show.
