From old jazz and vaudeville to country blues, with a healthy dose of Memphis Minnie (one of the original female guitar heroes) Del Rey and Suzy Thompson trade vocal duties or sing together in close harmony. Rey's metal resonator guitar and ukulele provide the groove and Thompson's fiddle is the filigree. And the bit that altogether clinches the deal is Del's witty, fast-talking, right-on-the-money musings on life.
