Best known as half of the Los Angeles folk rock duo Lowen & Navarro, Dan has returned to solo touring following Eric Lowen's early retirement due to Lou Gehrig's disease. Dan devotes much of his set to songs from the Lowen & Navarro repertoire, leaning toward the pieces he wrote, but more clearly evincing the L.A. influences of the Eagles and Los Lobos. Dan's new songs are the work of an open-hearted songwriter who conveys sincerity and feeling in his attractive folk-rock music and gruff, baritone voice. The entity that was Lowen & Navarro cannot be duplicated by only one of them, but Dan proves himself an effective, engaging performer on his own.
