You need nothing more to write poems than bits of string and thread and some dust from under the bed. Marvin Bell
Are you an aspiring poet who needs a jumpstart? A beginner curious to try your hand? Or a serious writer who wants the stimulation of other poets? This workshop is for writers of all levels who wish to nourish their poetic talent and develop their skills.
Inspired by prompts, exercises, wordplay, and poems by established poetsyou will create your own poems.
Please bring a small object that has special meaning to you to the first class.
BONUS: We will welcome Passager's editors to one of our sessions. You will have the opportunity to ask everything you ever wanted to know about the publication process.

Instructor Shirley J. Brewer is a Baltimore poet, educator, and workshop facilitator. She has published widely in literary journals around the country, and most recently has poems in the anthology, Poetry in Medicine, edited by Michael Salcman with a foreword by Michael Collier, and published by Persea Books. Shirley's poetry books include A Little Breast Music, Passager Books, and After Words, Apprentice House.
