Hillsboro Community Youth Choir 10th Anniversary Concert "To Music" and Party
Hillsboro Community Youth Choir 10th Anniversary Concert "To Music" and Party Saturday, May 16th at 4:00 pm Hillsboro High School Auditorium
Hillsboro Community Youth Choir is delighted to present a very special 10th Anniversary concert and celebration party on Saturday, May 16
Featured songs to celebrate music and the Choir's tenth anniversary include Handel's "Music, Spread Thy Voice Around," Johann Jeep's "O, Music Thou Most Lovely Art," and the beautiful arrangement by J. Edmund Hughes of Robert Lowry's poem, "How Can I Keep From Singing." Songs from "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown" and "The Lion King" will round out our programming, in addition to the HCYC theme song, "To Music," (arr. Betty Bertaux) which expresses the pure joy of music and singing. A concert highlight will be Vijay Singh's "Echo My Soul", a choral work for SATB, Children's Chorus, and strings. Originally composed for joint anniversaries of the Oregon Chorale and Hillsboro Community Youth Choir five years ago, this year all three of the HCYC choirs will be featured a total of 80 voices. HCYC is very pleased to have the exceptional musicians of the Stradivari String Quartet from Portland join us in this work.
A grand 10th anniversary party with cake and all the fixings will follow the concert.
Tickets $8 per adult ~ $2 for youth (6-18) Free for children under 6 At http://www.hillsborocommunityyouthchoir.org/ And at the door 30 minutes before concert
