| Description |
From the playwright who brought you brought you the controversial play about an inter-generational relationship between a woman and a girl in "Woman/Girl," and the "caustic satire" that "raise[d] your hackles" in the 2005 production of "Hook the Holy Hollow":
In "The Blackmailer," we're in 20th-century Europe, and His Niece becomes swept up in a fascination for Her Uncle's artistry and charisma... But with his increasing possessiveness, what unreasonable -- even criminal -- demands will Her Uncle make upon His Niece?
"The Blackmailer" is written by Roxanne Ray and directed by Elena Hartwell, with the performing talent of Lisa Balloun, Cherilynn Brooks, Serin Ngai, Edwin Scheibner, and Megan Winston, as well as the design talent of Steve Cooper, Amy Hartwell, Kristin Holsather, Karen Imas, Michael Mowery, and Mary Porter, with original musical composition by Patrick Seick, and Tim Crist as Stage Manager. Please join us for this exploration of violence and history.
The Experimental Theatre Project of White Cat Productions aims to create theatre and performance that pushes experimental boundaries of both playwriting and production. The Experimental Theatre Project seeks to engage in multi-disciplinary experimentation and innovation, as well as artistic integrity and excellence, in all of its performance endeavors. ETP is particularly interested in the relevance of performance to social and cultural concerns, and strives to explore these issues in theatrical form as well as in content.
