Throat Singing Workshop with Arrington De Dioynso - Fresh Produce Festival
Olympia Washington's Arrington De Dioynso of Malikat Dan Singa and Old Time Relijun (K Records)offers a workshop on unleashing, exploring and gaining awareness of the multi phonics of the voice with a emphasis on Tuvan Throat singing. In this workshop students will free their voices and learn how to use the voice as a instrument of the body and soul. Participants will gain an enhanced understanding of the expressive capacity of the voice beyond everyday speaking and singing. Workshop fee is $35 and limited to 12 students.
Arrington de Dionyso makes trans-utopian world music for a world that exists in fever dreams and hallucinations. Using performance and visual art, he traverses the nameless territories held between surrealist automatism, shamanic seance, and the folk imagery of rock and roll. Ecstasy vs. Madness.
