Bye Bye Birdie
The ultimate feel-good musical and winner of four 1961 Tony Awards, including Best Musical, Bye Bye Birdie tells the story of rock 'n' roll superstar Conrad Birdie, loosely based on Elvis Presley. To the dismay of his adoring fans, Conrad is about to be drafted into the army. Comic complications ensue when, as part of one last publicity stunt cooked up by his agent, he promises to give a good-bye kiss to one lucky girl on "The Ed Sullivan Show." Charles Strouse and Lee Adam's upbeat score which includes the hit songs "Put On A Happy Face," "Kids," "One Boy," and "The Telephone Hour," will lift your heart and rock your feet!
