B.O.O.M. Fest: One Life Stand
Alicia Dattner, winner of the San Francisco Fringe's "Best Female Solo Act" & "Best of the Fringe", brings her third show in three years to the stage in this year's knockout comedy, "One Life Stand". "One Life Stand" proceeds her award-winning show "Eat, Pray, Laugh!" which is still touring the country after playing Off-Broadway in New York, Los Angeles, London, Bombay and a thrice-extended run in San Francisco.
This brand new show tackles America's obsession with L-O-V-E, and takes Alicia's love life as the prime example of this obsession. In the immortal words of Robert Palmer, "You might as well face it, you're addicted to love." In Alicia's most revealing and most comedic show yet, her material ranges from raunchy to revelatory, judgmental to judicious, slutty to sacred, Alicia tells it like it is. (For her.) You'll laugh, you'll cry, you'll identify... maybe find yourself a little turned on (but hopefully not while crying), and hopefully, you'll leave a little more enlightened. This is a workshop performance/staged reading, and you'll get to see the work in a rare, raw, and exciting form. Plus, each week will feature a different segment of the show, so if you come all three weeks, you'll see pretty much a different show each time.
After seven years of producing cutting edge, indie-theater, Off-Market will close its doors at the end of January 2011 with a B.O.O.M. PianoFight and Combined Artform are proud to have Alicia's new show as part of the Best Of Off-Market Festival, running January 7 â" 29, 2011.
