Among other things, 'Daughters of Catastrophe' is about the agony of relinquishing youth. In separate stories with related themes, three women embody the difficulty of adult transition within American culture.
Daughters of Catastrophe are the inheritors of a society where things often matter more than human concerns. The play features women whose desires are diverted by affluence. As much as any previous generation, these women must grapple with mythologies of motherhood, marriage, and family.
SP Miskowski received a Master of Fine Arts degree from UW in 1993. Since then she has worked as a newspaper editor, video and film scriptwriter, and drama instructor. Her plays have been staged by several companies in Seattle (including Lisa Anne Glomb's Seattle Theater Project) and have had staged readings in Los Angeles and New York.
