Acts of Desperation
Join performers LOUIE FOXX, JULIA GHOULIA, and PROFESSOR VANDERBECK as they take their audience on a 90-minute surreal journey exploring the themes of madness and immortality, while surrounded by the unearthly artifacts found in Spooked in Seattle's famous Death Museum.
LOUIE FOXX is the consummate kid that never grew up and it's evident as you watch him interact with audiences of all age. He is living his childhood dream of being a magician. As a kid he realized that he excelled at all of the things that adults told him were a waste of time. Instead of playing baseball in high school, Louie built himself a rickety table and rode the bus into downtown to perform magic tricks on the street corner and got paid by "passing the hat". He's come a long way since then. The Society of American Magicians voted Louie The Best Stage Magician and Best Close-Up Magician in Minnesota in 1996. He has also been featured twice in the prestigious Linking Ring magazine which is a magazine for the 13,000 members of the International Brotherhood of Magicians! Louie has also written several books about magic tricks for professional magicians, one of which has sold over 2,300 copies! Louie is also a Two Time Guinness World Record Holder and has been on NBC's America's Got Talent, the nationally syndicated television show How 'Bout That, Evening Magazine, New Day Northwest, Otra Movida TV in Spain, and in London's Guardian Newspaper! You will gasps in awe at Louie's bullwhip artistry demonstration, laugh hysterically as Louie wraps his head in duct tape to play a game of 20 questions, ooh and awe at incredible images that Louie can make with the shadows of his hands, sit in amazement as Louie demonstrates the skill that got him TWO Guinness World Records, clap uncontrollably at the unexpected and impossible end of the Cup Game, and much more! Louie is enjoying life as the rockstar dad. He now has a valid excuse to go to the zoo once a week and build forts out of the sofa cushions.
Presenting JULIA GHOULIA the indestructible! She is able to remain unscathed while performing such unthinkable feats as; escaping from a straitjacket, hammering long, sharp objects into her nose, walking up a ladder of machetes, and walking on broken glass!
PROFESSOR VANDERBECK has been obsessed with mathematics since he was a child, and believes that proper understanding of the underlying principles of the Universe allows him to penetrate the veil of the future and garner insight into the mysteries of space, time, energy, mind and spirit. He will discover the hidden fears of select audience members, attempt to make contact with a resident of one of the most famous lunatic asylums in history, and finally settle the philosophical debate of free will versus predestination.
Henry D. Thoreau once said "The mass of men lead lives of quiet desperation." While these particular performers may be desperate, they are far from quiet, and you won't be either as you witness their offerings while in the depths of the Seattle underground.
