Off the Menu: The Flavors of Italy
Our Off the Menu series recognizes the fact that consumers bear some responsibility for what ends up on the plate at restaurants. We offer chefs an audience for the food that they're most passionate aboutwhether it's ultra-traditional, experimental, cutting-edge, or just the sort of thing that lights up a food geek's eyes.
Following our first event, a traditional eight-course Thai meal at Nida's, we are very excited to announce a partnership with Rick Lopez and his team at Knead Urban Diner. Rick, whose skill with classic Italian food earned him a loyal following at Trattoria La Tavola, will offer an evening of Italian food that will transport you to the Osterias of Modena and Genoa. Authentic Italian fare ranges from the Fritto Misto to the Raviolo to the traditional winter Zampone and the biodynamic Italian wines.

Fritto Misto ... a seasonal mix of root vegetables in a light tempura batter served with garlic aioli
Salsiccia di Anatra e Fegato Grasso ... house-made duck and foie gras sausage with kumquat marmalata, roasted wild mushrooms, and sage served over buckwheat polenta with taleggio cheese
Egg Yolk Raviolo ... homemade pasta stuffed with liquid farm fresh local egg yolk served over braised lacinato kale topped with crisp house-cured guanciale and sunchokes with shaved parmigiano reggiano cheese
Pomegranate Ginger Granita
Zampone with Lentils and Braised Fennel ... local Berkshire trotter (foot) boned and stuffed with house made sausage and sweetbreads boiled and served over a bed of lentils and braised fennel
