The Genuine Show
The Unknown Players, San Francisco's newest theater company, announces the premiere of The Genuine Show!, an evening of one-acts by local playwright Vonn Scott Bair for a run of six performances at The Exit Theatre Studio, April 16-18 and April 23-25, 2015.

The seven short plays, mostly comedies, explore relationships of all kinds. Some are normal. In "What You Must Think of Me," a woman has to introduce her current boyfriend to her previous boyfriend. Some are literally Surrealistic: in "This Is Not a Play," a briefcase, a bed sheet, and a trombone try to figure out why the Belgian painter Rene Magritte has chosen to stick them in the same painting.

Producer Irving Schulman: originally from New York City, he came to California to become a stand up comic and has made appearances at the comedy store and at the Improv in Los Angeles. Moved to San Francisco in 1989 to pursue an acting career in theater and never looked back. Notable productions: Street Car Named Desire, Playing in the Dark at the fringe Festival in 2006, Romeo And Juliet. Moon over Buffalo, School for Scandal, The Lady is Not for Burning and the Lead role for On the Razzle by Tom Stoppard, Twilight Zone episodes at the darkroom. And currently producing The Genuine Show at the Exit Theater with S.F. local playwright Vonn Scott Bair.

Directing the Unknown Players' first production is Wesley Cayabyab whose previous work includes: The world premiere of Morgan Ludlow's Lawfully Wedded, The Spooky Cabaret, Drowning Kate and Unhinged by Krista Knight.

Almost 30 of Vonn Scott Bair's plays and screenplays have received productions, most recently in Wily West's 2014 production of Sheherezade, a one-act festival where his play "The Duck" received outstanding reviews.. He is a San Francisco actor, playwright, screenwriter, and cookie baker who writes The San Francisco Scene--Seen! at http://vonnscottbair.wordpress.com .

The Genuine Show! is fortunate to have a stellar cast of theater veterans and talented newcomers bringing these plays to life, including Sarah Galarneau, Phil Goleman, Colin Hussey, Sarah Leight, Jocelyn Truitt and Richard Wenzel.
