Concert Spirituel & American Handel Festival: "A Handel Celebration for Bach's Birthday" on Mar 21
Concert Spirituel and the American Handel Festival present "A Handel Celebration for Bach's Birthday" as part of Concert Spirituel's seven 2010-2011 performances of period instrument chamber music. In the Northwest since 1982.

Excerpts from Handel's Nine German Arias will be performed along with Bach arias including Ich folge dir gleichfalls from the St. John Passion, excerpts from the Coffee Cantata and sonatas by Bach and Handel.
The program will be dedicated to conductor and harpsichordist George Shangrow, who championed the oratorios and other large choral and orchestral works of Handel and Bach in the Northwest. As a conductor, keyboardist and radio host he touched the lives of many and greatly influenced the classical music scene in the Pacific Northwest over the past 40 years.
