Sycamore Cooking Class with chef Mike Odette
Add two versatile pastry doughs to your culinary repertoire! Learn how to prepare pâte brisée, a flaky pastry dough used in many sweet and savory preparations, and pâte sucrée, an equally useful sweet pastry dough.
We will begin with a glass of wine and a tour of Sycamore's kitchen, then watch Chef Mike's demonstration of pastry dough preparation. Participants will get to prepare their own dough, roll out and line individual tart shells and bake a personal-sized quiche for lunch.
There will also be a discussion and demonstration of other uses for these versatile pastry doughs, such as fresh fruit tarts, baked fruit tarts and a rustic potato galette.
As the demonstration ends, Chef Mike will join us in the Sycamore dining room for a lunch of quiche, salad, dessert and a glass of wine.
As a thank-you for spending your mid-day Saturday with us, participants will also receive a take-home gift, compliments of Sycamore!
