Self-professed satirist and mystic, Mikhail Bulgakov created until his last moment of consciousness despite years of censorship, persecution and eventual silence by the Stalinist Regime. Through physical digestion and recon-struction of images and passages from his life and works, ARTEL seeks to engage the audience in a mutual investigation of our present reality and the necessity as well as price of artistic freedom throughout human civilization.
