Hope Mohr Dance presents The Unsayable & guest Liz Gerring Dance
Z Space at Theater Artaud San Francisco, CA
Since its inception in 2007, Hope Mohr Dance has quickly gained recognition as one of the leading new modern dance companies in the Bay Area, known for its collaborations with a wide range of prominent artists, and its risk-taking, rigorously crafted, and emotionally resonant performances.
For its fourth home season, the company presents the premiere of The Unsayable as well as a new work by guest Liz Gerring Dance Company called she dreams in code.
Mohr's The Unsayable is a performance project bringing together war veterans and professional dancers in conversation to explore personal stories through movement and text. Veterans participate as artistic partners, not subjects or patients.
Hope Mohr Dance will also present a new work by Liz Gerring Dance Company. This work is presented as part of HMD's Bridge Project, showcasing the work of notable choreographers. Gerring's precise, athletic work has been described by Alastair Macaulay of the New York Times as "arresting," "engrossing," and "exceptional."
Student & Military discounts available with ID.
Note: The matinee (2 PM) performance on Sunday March 6th will feature a post-show Q&A on veterans issues with the performers and experts in the field. The Sunday show is especially for military personnel, their families, veterans and those serving the veteran community.
