Jig is a collection of short dances choreographed by Justin Jones. The pieces, originally created for composer Sean Griffin's epic music theater opus, Cold Spring (premiering at EMPAC in Troy, NY in early Dec.) have been plucked from their original and intended context for further scrutiny. In making the dances, Jones was thinking about Dance Notation, Alien Abductions and Eugenics and was also just trying to make some great dances. To open the show, Jones and Elliott Lynch will be in a band together for 10-15 minutes.
