Discount Pass: Twin Cities Dance Film Retrospective / An Evening With Pina Bausch
The discounted pass is good for admission to one screening of each program for the Minnesota Dance Film Festival's Twin Cities Dance Film Retrospective and An Evening With Pina Bausch at the Minneapolis College of Art and Design. Each program has two screenings and you may choose to attend either screening.
The Twin Cities Dance Film Retrospective opens the Minnesota Dance Film Festival with an intimate look at the history of dance filmmaking in the Twin-Cities showcasing a variety of works created by local pioneers in the field. On December 11 at 6:30 p.m. there will be a pre-screening Artist Talk about the emergence and history of dance film making in the Twin-Cities. Screening begins at 7:30 p.m. A presentation of the Minnesota Dance Film Festival presented by Cinema Revolution Society, co-presented by the Minneapolis College of Art and Design.
Legendary German dancer and choreographer Pina Bausch, who directed the Tanztheater de Wuppertal from 1973 until her unforeseen death in 2009, is considered not only a great figure of German expressionist dance, but also as one of the greatest contemporary choreographers of the 20th century. An Evening with Pina Bausch features two documentaries that offer insight into her artistic life and creative process. A presentation of the Minnesota Dance Film Festival by Cinema Revolution Society, and co-presented by the Germanic-American Institute and the Minneapolis College of Art and Design.
