SMPS SFBAC Leadership Symposium - Session 2 - From Mad Men to the Modern Woman: Bridging the Gender Gap in Firm Leadership
Research shows that companies with more women in senior-level positions simply perform better. And while there are plenty of smart and capable female professionals in the AEC industry, why don't we see greater diversity in firm leadership positions?
This interactive session will serve as a forum to discuss pertinent matters regarding women in leadership. The moderator will solicit questions from the audience on relevant topics such as achieving work/life balance, showing emotions, neutralizing stereotypes, communicating assertively and effectively, and positioning yourself for the job you want. Panelists will share their unique perspectives and tried-and-true advice on the many challenges women face in today's workplace and how men can best support them professionally. Lastly, we will wrap up with key takeaways.
