Portland Country Underground (Are You Ready for the Country?)

For over a decade now, a group of Portland roots-rock musicians have, on occasion, put their respective bands to the side to gather together and play their favorite country music. For the first several years, these evenings were primarily Willie Nelson-themed, but in recent years have expanded to include all 'classic' country music.
Like an old-fashioned hootenanny, this gives the artists an opportunity to play with other musicians that their busy schedules might not otherwise allow, while giving their audience a chance to see these performers do something special, collaborative, and maybe even a little out of their usual element.
Tonight's lineup of performers includes folk legend Michael Hurley, Kevin & Anita Robinson (of Blue Giant and Viva Voce), Al James the Unfazed (of Dolorean), Emily Butler, Darrin Craig (Jackstraw), Lewi Longmire (Fernando, Casey Neill, Little Sue, Pancake Breakfast), David Lipkind (I Can Lick Any SOB in the House, Woodbrain), Joe Chiusano (Fernando, Young Edwardians), Ned Folkerth (Caleb Klauder Band), Scott Hay and more!
In the past, these evenings have usually taken place at fairly large venues, but we've decided to skip the big production aspect and hone in on the homey comfort of an intimate setting: the Laurelthirst Public House.
Show begins at approximately 9:30pm.
