Audition Monologue Workshop, 10/30 & 11/6
Audition Monologue Workshop (2 Saturdays).
Saturday, October 30th 2PM to 5PM and Saturday, November 6th 2PM to 5PM.
Workshop limited to 8 students to guarantee maximum individual attention
Taught by: Laura Sturm and Ann Keen
Cost: $75
Location: Polarity Ensemble Theatre space, at the Josephinum Academy, 1500 N. Bell (Wicker Park)

Description: An intense audition monologue workshop designed to fully prepare you for your next audition experience.
We break down all the moments of the audition to maximize your impact in making a memorable impression and ensuring that each moment of your monologue is specific and finely tuned.

Extra Benefit: You will be offered an opportunity to audition for our next show, the world premiere of Bryce Wissel's Ephemera, and for the 2011 Dionysos Cup Festival of New Plays.

Requirements: A one minute monologue that is memorized and ready to perform

About the teachers: Polarity Ensemble Member Laura Sturm received her M.F.A. in acting from Northern Illinois University and teaches at Act One Studios. She has acted in Chicago since 1994 with several theatre companies including Provision Theater, Signal Ensemble Theatre, Remy Bumppo, and Mary-Arrchie to name a few. She also serves as an acting and movement coach for productions in addition to years of private coaching.  For Polarity, Laura directed Sheridan's 18th Century style comedy, The Rivals, and is the director of the world premiere of Ephemera, Polarity's upcoming Spring show.

Managing Director Ann Keen received her M.F.A. from Arizona State University where she instructed as well. She has done private coaching and also taught at the Cleveland Playhouse. She has acted in the area since 1997, most recently playing Izzy in Rabbit Hole for Steel Beam Theatre. She directed A Streetcar Named Desire for Polarity, and also Hamlet, which earned Polarity the title of "Best Emerging Theatre in 2008" from the Reader.
