Join us Tuesday, November 16, 7:00 p.m. at the Lark Theater as we welcome Dr. Denise Pope, Ph.D. This lecture will promote discussion on practical solutions for the problems presented in the recent documentary "Race to Nowhere." Dr. Pope will highlight the parent, student, and teacher "traps" that occur in and out of the classroom, and emphasize positive strategies to promote constructive home and school environments. Denise Pope, Ph.D., is a senior lecturer at the Stanford University School of Education. She is a co-founder of Challenge Success, an innovative program that re-examines the conventional definition of success and offers practical alternatives to pursue a broader idea of achievement. Recently featured in the film "Race to Nowhere," Dr. Pope is a three-time recipient of the Stanford University School of Education Outstanding Teacher and Mentor Award.
