2010 Chapter Election Meeting & Tour: Folsom Lake College Visual & Performing Arts Center
Join the Chapter for a special presentation and tour of the new Folsom Lake Visual and Performing Arts Center,
prior to its grand opening in early 2011.

This two-story, 78,000 s.f. project includes an 800-seat multi-purpose theater, full fly tower and orchestra pit,
200-seat studio theatre, 100-seat recital hall, choral rehearsal hall, scene shop, as well as other back-of-house
and technical theater and music education facilities. It also features an art gallery, faculty and administrative
offices, a public lobby area with food service and public support functions.

Construction of the $50 million project began in July 2008, with the grand opening slated for February 2011. The project was funded by state and local bonds, with additional support from the Los Rios Community College District and donations to the Folsom Lake College foundation. According to the college, the new performing arts center will "be a beehive of activity, with over 400 events annually."

AIA Central Valley member firm LPAS performed full architectural, planning, landscape and interior design
services for the project and will lead the presentation and facility tour.
