The Seven Deadly Pleasures is a soul-searching and entertaining exposé of the archetypal Seven Deadly Sins: wrath, greed, sloth, pride, lust, envy, and gluttony. Dressed up in contemporary clothing, and aided by the charismatic Devil, the Sins are exploited for their considerable Pleasures by the Dante family: Frank, wealthy and unscrupulous; his hungry brother Bruno; the angry son David; his lusty wife Sofia; and the beautiful, proud young girl Angela, who is desperate for love. Each of the characters personifies not only their individual "deadly sin," but also the opposing "virtue." Struggling to hold on to the American Dream, the Dantes fight to hide a dark secret that could destroy them, while a trio of singing angels propels the play to its inevitable cathartic end.
