Dibigode:

DIBIGODE is an instrumental Brazilian band, whose style blends rock and jazz with Brazilian rhythms. In this performance prepared for their second U.S. tour, their repertoire will be composed of tracks from their first album, new tracks that will be released in 2014 and also interpretations of classic Brazilian folk music.

For the past six years DIBIGODE have broken down the walls of contemporary instrumental music and proposed a different way of listening as well as experiencing music. Their first and acclaimed album "Naturais e Idênticos ao Natural de Pimentas da Jamaica e Preta" and intense live performance became one of the biggest revelations on the 2011 Brazilian independent music scene. The quintet drew the audience and media attention, such as Rolling Stone Brazil, Billboard Brazil and MTV Brazil, for creating music that mixed Fusion, Rock and local rhythms very naturally. Their second album named "Limbo" has just been recorded and will be released in december 2014. In the meantime, the band will tour the USA, Argentina and Brazil.

Atlantis Quartet:

Atlantis Quartet has been a leading voice in the Twin Cities burgeoning modern jazz scene since its inception in 2006. Featuring four of Minnesota's most celebrated composer / improvisers in saxophonist Brandon Wozniak, guitarist Zacc Harris, drummer Pete Hennig, and bassist Chris Bates, their blend of complexity and accessibility has proven a perfect fit for all listeners. Recent highlights have included headlining the opening night of the Twin Cities Jazz Festival in 2014, a mainstage spot at the 2015 Iowa City Jazz Fest, and the release of their fourth album 'Expansion' in 2013. Atlantis was named best jazz artist by theStar Tribune in 2012 and City Pages in 2011, who said, "No jazz band is on the prowl both creatively and in gaining national recognition quite like Atlantis Quartet Each player's ideas and strengths seem to infiltrate the others' consciousness, so the music evolves as a constantly shifting mosaic of textures, rhythmic patterns and tonal colors. This is a band with limitless future."

The group has produced four albums in total, each to critical acclaim. Of the band's second album, 'Animal Progress', JazzTimes Magazine stated, "Twin Cities modern jazz renegades shift nimbly from a punk-jazz aesthetic to ECM-ish sensitivity on their intriguing sophomore release. Saxophonist Brandon Wozniak joins guitarist Zacc Harris on the frontline. Both strong improvisers are supported by the flexible rhythm tandem of upright bassist Chris Bates and drummer Pete Hennig on material that ranges from grungy and audacious ("Verge," "Eastern Horizon," "Bottles 'N' Cans") to lyrical and evocative ("Look Out Your Window," "Albatross"), freeboppish ("Meltdown," "Red Headphones"), meditative ("Ballad for Ray") and swinging ("Radio Games"). Startlingly original stuff."

Collectively, the group has worked with many of the biggest names in jazz, both past and present, including Dave King (Bad Plus), Eric Gravatt (Weather Report), Ben Wendel (Kneebody), Chris Speed, Babatunde Lea, Tony Hymas, Walter Smith III, Francesco Mela, Joe Lovano, and Lee Konitz.
